Santos began his career in 2011 with River Plate Montevideo, where he played for four seasons, until now.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Michael Santos on Goal.com )〕 He scored 21 goals in 2014-2015 season and has been pre-selected in U-22 Uruguay national football team.
In August 2015, Santos was called up by Oscar Washington Tabárez to take part in Uruguay national football team roster.
